EOS R7 Unable to shoot jpeg

garylaihk

I am using a R7. How do I shoot in Jpeg? The out files are in RAW and HEIF only. I am not able to open .hif on my PC. The DPP software does not display the HEIF flies either. I have checked my image setting and updated the firmware to the latest version. Thanks

You have selected HDR shooting HDR PQ. When this is used the images created can only be saved as .HIF and or RAW images. If you turn this setting off, then your camera will create .JPG and or RAW images.

You can use the playback menu on your camera to convert any .HIF images to JPG, go to the blue play back menu, search for HEIF -> JPG conversion.

Is JPEG setting not available? It should be shown on page 1 of the camera's main menu-

Aren't Heif used for HDR images only?

Hi. The main menu stated "Jpeg/HEIF". The resulting files saved to my card are only .hif, which I have problems viewing/editing. Is there a setting to output .jpg files from the camera as well?
