EOS 700D Screen auto-rotates even when auto-rotate is turned off

I have a 700d, the screen of it automatically rotates with slighter deviations and doesn’t switch back easily. Tried to turn auto-rotate off, but still the issue persists. Is this something that has to be dealt with the hardware?
