I use a 5DM4. I'm looking to get some extra memory cards. Since I shoot a lot of time lapse videos, I need a pretty high read/write speed. I currently use SanDisk Extreme Pro CF card, which writes at 160. I see CF type B cards with transfer rates of 1200. One, aren't there limits as to how fast the camera can write to the card? And two, is a type B card even compatible with my 5d?

Both good points gents.
Yes, type b refers to CFExpress. The 5D4 doesn't support CFExpress Type B.

The maximum read/write speed of the camera is limited by the camera hardware.
it sort of works like gas mileage from a car. Buying the highest octane gasoline does not cause or create a significant increase in gas mileage.
I use SanDisk Extreme Pro cards.

Aren't type B cards referring to CFExpress?
For the 5D IV, CF (Compact Flash) cards that can be used are Type I, UDMA Mode 7. See page 5 of the User Manual.
