Canon camera support with an 850D in the US

Hello, I've been having a issues with a Canon EOS 850D that I bought from a 3rd party shop on amazon. It started as error code 30 and at random times when I would shoot, the camera would just stop and give me error code 30, I would take the battery in and out and it would fix the problem. That went on for around a year maybe. But recently, the camera stopped and gave me error code 20, after hearing a weird sound from the shutter. Nothing I tried would get the camera out of the error code, and it seems to just do a small click sound a couple times when it tries to turn on. The last photos that were taken before it failed showed a black line that moved up and down through out the series of photos.

How do I get this to Canon support? I've looked at all their support stuff but they want you to register the camera, but for USA the 850D isn't an option, and since this came from a 3rd party entity I believe there is no warranty or carepak. If anyone have info on what happened to my camera that would be much appreciated as well.

Greetings,

The only thing you can do is call Canon USA.

Camera's intended for sale in another region or grey market products cannot always be serviced in a different country.  Support, repair and serviceability is ultimately up to the local service center.  Its not that Canon doesn't want to help you, they may not have access to the parts needed to service your product. Since you cannot register the device, you'll need to contact support and see if they can help.

This camera model was not sold in the USA. EOS 850D was sold in Europe, and it's USA version was known as the EOS Rebel T8i. As Canon USA didn't sell the specific model they might not be able to help, and don't list it on their support site.

You are out of any Canon warranty anyway so consulting a commercial repair shop is the way forward. Keep in mind a good used working T8i isn't worth a lot of money and is losing value all the time as the R series cameras become more common place and what most people want.
