Can't get R8 to deliver good video signal via hdmi

Hey all. I just got a new R8 to replace my Panasonic G9 - also for webinars and recordings directly to Ecamm etc. But when I try to connect R8 to my mac via the micro hdmi the signal is just not nearly as good as with my old G9 (which has an hdmi port).

I've upgraded to a 4K ultra HD HDMI cable with 18 Gbps which made the result a bit better - but still far, far, far from the G9 in terms of great video quality when connected via HDMI.

Any ideas? Or is G9 just better for these kind of situations than the R8?

I'm sorry to hear you are seeing image quality issues in the HDMI output from your EOS R8. To trouble shoot the issue we would need more information on what is happening. Is the issue that you are seeing artifacts/lines/noise in the output, or is the issue related to something like frame rate or resolution? Is this issue happening if you connect the camera to a different HDMI device? Are you seeing any error messages on the camera, and if you are what does it say word for word?
