Can EOS Rebel T7 EF-S 18-55mm IS II do live streaming? Do I need an HDMI cable to do the live stream, or do I just need to connect it to WiFi?

The Canon Rebel T7 DOES NOT support CLEAN HDMI OUT. Meaning all of the icons on the rear LCD screen are visible when connected to an external display. Also your camera DOESN'T SUPPORT Movie Servo AF. Your camera can't track during movie mode. You will have to manually focus the lens to keep everything in focus. You will need higher end camera for CLEAN HDMI OUT. Also for Movie Servo AF.

Your T7 is supported by the Canon WebCam utility, so you can livestream with a USB cable.

I agree.

The T7 is well suited for “talking head” videos that you see all over YouTube.  The content creator is typically seen in a fixed head or bust shot.  The camera does not move or refocus on the subject, who also does not move.
