EOS R7 & EF 70-300 make clicking noise, image bounces

Hi,

I have a canon R7 and am having a problem using my 70-300 IS USM EF lens with a kf concept adapter. It only started recently. When I turn on the camera, even with AF and IS both off, it makes a clicking noise in sets of 4, and the image on the screen bounces up and down in conjunction. Thought it was a bad IS motor but now I don’t know. Any info helps.

And all other lenses, even EF ones, work normally with AF and MF

3rd Party Mount adapters are nothing but trouble. You the Canon brand Mount adapter and all the problems will go away. Which EF 70-300mm please provide the FULL NAME. Canon has made 3 different models of that lens. One of which is a professional grade L lens which is white in color. The other 2 are black in color and are consumer grade lenses.

Many forum members have reported all sorts of issues when they were using third party mount adapters. While the adapter may not be the cause of your issue, it’s advisable that you replace it.

Does the issue occur with other lenses, especially ones that have Image Stabilization?  Does it occur with the camera in Intelligent Auto shooting mode?

I also suggest removing the adapter and replacing it with the body cap. Next, switch the camera to P shooting mode and perform a factory reset on all camera settings.
