Printing a single page

Is there a way to print a single page(color other than white) without loading it in the cassette tray? Some printers will allow to place a single page in the top feeder and have it fed when you print.

My MX892 printer keeps displaying offline/not connoted when I try to print from my Mac.

Everytine I try to print from my Mac if get the message that my printer is offline/not connected.  How do I remedy this?  

My MX890 does not print the black ink both of which are adequately full. 2 of the colors say low.
