TR8620a Scanner shows vertical line on middle of document when scanned using the document feeder

When I scan from the automatic document feeder, a vertical line about 1mm thick runs down the center of the page.  When I scan directly from the platen, the document is clean with no vertical line.  Attached is a photo of the line.  It only started doing this in the last couple of weeks.  I uninstalled all of the printer software and reinstalled if from the Canon site.  Still the same issue.  How do I fix this?  Vertical line when using doc feederVertical line when using doc feeder

Hi,

The ADF has a small separate platen glass that is used for scanning. You would just need to lift the cover and then the ADF cover. If cleaning the glass does not resolve the issue, the printer would require service.

If the printer is in it's 1 year warranty, I recommend reaching out to Canon support for your warranty options. You will need to register your Canon gear HERE to access additional support options.

If the printer is out of warranty, you would qualify for the Canon Upgrade program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service or are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This program allows you the opportunity to purchase a replacement product discounted from the list price. Free ground shipping is included with your purchase.

Wow, that fixed it.  I didn't know there was a separate glass for ADF.  I cleaned it and everything is good now.  Thank you very much.
