Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The PIXMA MG7720 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for sharing the update that the MG7720 has been retired. Any updated Canon printers that uses the Pixma cartridges (270-PGBK, 271-BK, 271-C, 271-GY, 271-M, 271-Y)? I purchased several boxes for a project prior to the printer dying.

That's a great question!  Those same ink cartridges work in each of the following PIXMA printer models:

MG6820
MG6821
MG6822
MG5720
MG5721
MG5722
TS5020
TS6020
TS8020
TS9020

Please keep in mind that all of these printer models have since gone out of production so their availability from Canon authorized dealers may be limited.

Glad we could help!

Greetings,

Printheads have a useable life.  Not just Canon printheads, but all of them.  At some point the heat that is generated normally can cause the printhead to fail.

Given the situation, I might take advantage of the upgrade option.

The upgrade option is offered to customers who own a product which is EOL (retired), no longer supported via software or cannot be serviced due to age, parts availability, etc.
