I've had such a good experience with my Pixma G4210 until now - when printing from Adobe, I get faded lines in every document. When printing from Preview, I get good quality. I've tried all of the maintenance tools many times. I use Canon ink. Suggestions? Thanks.

Hi kjrasmussen,
First, please print a test page from your G4210. To do this, please load plain paper and follow these steps:
1. Please press the wrench and screwdriver button on your G4210 one time.
2. Use the right arrow button to select Maintenance and press OK.
3. Press OK on Nozzle check.
Did |BK| print at the top of the page?
Did a black grid print to the right of it?
Below that, did 2 blue, 2 pink and 2 yellow bars print?
You can also view an example of the test page in the manual, here:
G4000 series > Maintenance > If Printing Is Faint or Uneven > Examining the Nozzle Check Pattern
If your test page does not look like the example, please perform 2 or 3 deep printhead cleanings. To perform this, please follow these steps:
1. Please press the wrench and screwdriver button on your G4210 one time.
2. Use the right arrow button to select Maintenance and press OK.
3. Use the right arrow button to select Deep cleaning and then press OK.
Once complete, please print another Nozzle check. If the test page still does not print correctly, please perform an System Cleaning. To do this, please follow these steps:
1. Please press the wrench and screwdriver button on your G4210 one time.
2. Press the right arrow button 3 times to select Maintenance and press OK.
3. Repeatedly press the right arrow button to select Ink Flush and then press the OK button.
4. Press OK button on the message that appears.
5. Use the left arrow to select Yes and then press OK button.
6. Use the left arrow again to select Yes and then press OK button.
Once complete, please print another test page.
Does your test page print correctly?
