IJ Scan Utility2 Ver.2.4.0 (Mac) Not working in OS 13 (Ventura) for Pixma MX 490 Series

Hi,

I recently upgraded to Mac OS 13.1 (Ventura). After that, my printers disappeared. I used to be able to use it with OS printer/scanner utility. But now only the printer works. The scanner is not an option that shows up in Image Capture anymore.

So I downloaded the latest available software from Cannon:

  • MX490 series CUPS Printer Driver Ver. 16.70.0.0 (Mac)

  • IJ Scan Utility2 Ver.2.4.0 (Mac)

  • My Image Garden Ver.3.6.6 (Mac)

When I go to /Applications/Canon Utilities/IJ Scan Utility/Canon IJ Scan Utility2.app, I get

"A scanner driver supporting this software is not installed. Install it and try again. Code: 15,230,0"

What does this mean? How can I scan again?

That worked. Thanks @jrhoffman75

Silly me, I would've thought if a dependency was required for that software, it would've just come part of the same install process!.

I too am on Mac Ventura 13.  My printer has been fine but has just stopped connecting.  I get this message: "

The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer for more information."

I'm NOT really a computer tech so I'm lost!  Help!  Do I just go buy a new printer?  Sally

PS It's impossible to contact the Developer!!!
