Hi,

If you have performed a cleaning, deep cleaning and ink flush and the Black ink still wont print then your G4210 would require service.

If the printer is in it's 1 year warranty, I recommend reaching out to Canon support for your warranty options. You will need to register your Canon gear HERE to access additional support options.

If the printer is out of warranty, you would qualify for the Canon Upgrade program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service or are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This program allows you the opportunity to purchase a replacement product discounted from the list price. Free ground shipping is included with your purchase.

If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Mon-Sat, 9 AM to 9pm EST excluding holidays.

very disappointed that this happened to me too, in the first 3 mo of ownership. error 5200. did deep cleaning. I shouldn't have to replace a printhead on such a young printer with only 1180 pages, as this SAME problem happened to me again today. performed deep cleaning and now working..for how long? my old Pixma 922 sooooooo much better. As a former printer support person, I know my way around a printer. makes me very leary of its continued use. do you recommend taking it in for service, or could a new printhead be sent to me?

The 5200 code is likely due to the print head running out of ink.

If deep cleaning is ineffective, it is recommended to perform ink flush
