EOS Utility 2.14.20a Updater asking for original CD-ROM

gar722

I tried to install this utility 2.14 and is said the CD ROM that came with the camera was needed. That was 12-15 years ago and have no idea where that could be.

I'm trying to install utility 2 on my new W 11 computer, which keeps telling me that I need U2 before I can view my pictures.

What do I need to do? I tried U3, but it still said U2 was needed.

Thanks

Just as its name says, the EU2  2.14.20a Updater UPDATES the original EU2 program installation. It does not install EU2 from scratch.

If you cannot locate a CD with EU2 that came with a camera, I can provide you with the CD contents. I saved my CD contents, so I don't need a CD anymore. It's just a matter of getting it to you.....on a flash drive, an SD memory card, a CD, a cloud dropbox, whatever. Private message me and we can work something out. The software is free. You pay for postage and the media, unless you provide it.

Hello,

Thank you for the reply.  Would a cloud dropbox be the quickest way to get this? If so, what needs to be done? I am not very computer savvy. Would of course compensate you for your  help.

Best Regards

I don't have a cloud dropbox. If you do, you have to allow access and tell me how to connect to it.

No charge to get it to you this way.

You may want to let me know by private message here.

There is a MS cloud on my computer, but I have no idea how to get you connected to it.

Would you see if you can install Dropbox on your system, at dropbox.com.

Sharing folders allows others to review and edit your files. All collaborators need a Dropbox account to edit or review

Thanks

Do not do this. It's not safe.

Please be aware the original software isn't compatible with Windows 11. The EOS 60D was retired in 2019, and isn't listed as being compatible with the current version of EOS Utility at https://canon.us/eu

You can get the original software by changing your OS to Windows 7, then scrolling down a lot.

To make things a bit easier, here is a shortcut: ksd291a_installer.zip

Using a cloud dropbox CAN  be safe it is a recognized system and one knows the owner of the dropbox and trusts them. I don't have a dropbox to use myself for this purpose, but it is a common thing. Microsoft OneDrive, what gar722 is referring to, can be use as a dropbox with access by other people you give access to. I have not done it, but have seen instructions how to do it.

WHAT original software are you saying is not Windows 11 compatible?

I have  an EOS Digital Solutions Disk with EU2 installer from 2012 that came with my EOS 60D, and have installed it on multiple Windows 11 computers. It absolutely DOES work. Immediately after installing it I apply the euw2.14.20a Updater. Works perfectly.
