I would like to purchase the Camera Connect & control app,the one time purchase, my question is, if the smart phone i will be using gets faulty and going to use a new smart phone, will i purchase the app again?.

I mentioned a Google Account. That would only apply if you are using Android. If you are using an IPhone, you can get the app from the Apple app store.

I double checked and the Canon Camera Connect app does not have a trial version. If you download the app it is the full app and it is free to download. If you follow the link in Stephen's reply you can go directly to the Canon Camera Connect app download.

I wouldn't think so. The Camera Connect and Control app sits on your Google Account and can be used on multiple devices. I use it on my tablet as well as my smartphone.
