network security vulnerability from wireless printers

NCjohn

I've been reading lately how some networked printers can present a serious breach of security, just as most IoT devices do. I'm trying to find out if there's some sort of network password or PIN within the printer firmware that can/should be changed from the default. Can anyone help me with this? I have two Canon printers, a Pro-100 and a MG6821.

Hi NCjohn,

There is no network password or pin that you can change. If your computer and printer are connected to a router (wirelessly or with an Ethernet cable) you should have no problems with security.
