.Will not accept password.  Firmware is up to date.  Thoughts?

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

I have seen issues with attempting to connect to Hitron routers.

The only method that seems to work is to use the WPS PIN method.

To do this, please follow the steps in the following Knowledgebase Article:

Hi bcomito,

To set up your PIXMA MG5720 on your wireless network, please follow these steps:

1. On your PIXMA MG5720, please press Setup from the HOME screen.

2. Select Device settings and press OK.

3. Use the up or down arrows to select LAN settings and press OK.

4. Use the up or down arrows to select Wireless LAN setup and press OK.

5. Select Other setup and press OK.

6. Select Advanced Setup and press OK.

7. Select your access point (router name) and enter your wireless password. Please make sure that the password is corrrect. The password is case sensitive, if entered incorrectly, your PIXMA MG5720 will not connect to your wireless network.

Thank you for the information.

I followed the steps but after I get to "Other Settings" there is no "Advanced Settings" option. I can choose from:

Set Printer Name

TCP/IP Settings

WSD Settings

Bonjour settings

LPR protocol settings

PictBridge Communication

Direct connection settings (greyed out, not able to select)

Please advise.

Hi klongbaker,

Please try Standard Setup instead:

1. On your PIXMA MG5720, please press Setup from the HOME screen.

2. Select Device settings and press OK.

3. Use the up or down arrows to select LAN settings and press OK.

4. Use the up or down arrows to select Wireless LAN setup and press OK.

5. Select Standard setup and press OK.

6. Select your wireless network from the list that appears and press OK.

7.  Enter your wireless network password and press OK.

Your PIXMA MG5720 should now be connected to your wireless network.

I can go through those steps just fine. My issue is my internet is password protected - but when selecting on the printer it begins to try to connect without a prompt to imput the password. So the result, it tries to connect and then gives me an error message. Not suprising as I was unable to provide the password.

Hello, I am having the same problem. I follow the steps to point 7 - select the router name, but the option to enter my wireless password does not come up.

Please help.

Hi eileen22,

Who is the manufacturer and what is the model number of your router?
