My PIxma TS8220 will not connect to my wireless network. I get a message that it won't connect to a 5G network.  This makes using this printer as a wireless printer obsolete.  Any suggestions?

Greetings,

Most (not all) wireless printer only have a 2.4Ghz receiver.  Canon, HP, Epson, Brother, Etc.

TS8220 Specs:

Hi-Speed USB
PictBridge (Wireless LAN)14
Wi-Fi® (802.11b/g/n wireless networking, 2.4 GHz)4
Memory Card Slot3
Bluetooth 4.0 LE (Low Energy)2

There is nothing obsolete about 2.4Ghz wireless.

If you are having connection issues, disable SMART Connect, give each boardcast a unique SSID name and connect your printer to the 2.4Ghz broadcast.  Other devices on your network, regardlss of how they are connected wired, wireless 2.4 or 5G will all be able to communicate with your TS8220.
