Hello,
I just purchased my 600EXII-RT to use with my 6D and I can't get it to meassure distance. The laser sensor ain't working and I have tried to change on camera settings and nothing. Do I have to download a new firmware or which are my options? Thanks for your help.

The 600EX-RT has no laser sensor and it is not able to measure distance.
It it does have a red focus assist light but it only works in single shot AF.
The distance scale is for “flash coupling distance” which only works if the flash is attached to a camera with a lens attached. It uses the lens aperture selected on the camera, and shows you the min and max working range distance for auto flash, or working distance for manual flash.

Thanks Mike!! I understand what you are saying, but I think that it's even doing "flash coupling distance".
I'm going to try what you mentioned about usign my camera in single shot and see if the red focus assit light works.
