I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. Over the last couple of week the select dial on the flash has gotten extremely difficult to turn, which makes it difficult to use. I am looking for a solution short of sending it in for a repair. any suggestions?

Maybe a foreign substance has gotten in and gummed it up; maybe a tooth has broken off of a plastic gear and jammed things. Or whatever. The only way to find out is to open it up and look. But inside an electronic flash, very high voltages are apt to be present, and you don't want to come in contact with those. Neither you nor the flash would be better off for it. I understand your desire to fix it yourself, but it may not be a smart idea.
