MR-14 EX II flash lamp not charging or staying on

Complete noobie here, looking for some help with an external ring flash, just got my first DSLR (canon 90d) with ring flash (Canon MR-14EX II)

I tested out the flash yesterday and everything worked fine, flash was working great, correct speed, quick charge up of the lamp, lamp ready light was red ect

Charged my batteries last night (eneloops 2500mah AA) with the charger that came with it. Put them in my flash this morning connected it to my camera and now the flash doesn't stay on? The pilot light/lamp ready light isn't turning red and the screen stays on for a few seconds only. I've tired 4 sets of different batteries all recently charged and different brands, Removed the flash from my camera and checked the connections, changed the settings to disable Auto off and still nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated 👍

Is the ring flash brand new?

If so then you should try the ring flash with top quality AA alkaline batteries just to rule out some charging issues for the Eneloops. If you still cannot get the flash ready light to go green or red then it may be there is a problem with the ring flash and it should be returned to the point of purchase.

The ring flash was second hand, from a reputable reseller. It's unfortunate it seemed to be working fine yesterday but no such luck today. I've tried some other high quality batteries and even a different sent of eneloops still no luck I even put my batteries in a different flash and they worked fine so I rule out the batteries being the issue.

I'll contact the seller for a refund or replace in that case thanks for the help
