Re: EOS Webcam Utility Beta Software: Share Your Feedback

Working great, just wish I could supply power via the USB-C jack on the battery grip while the EOS R is powered on.

I can charge my batteries via the USB-C connection on the EOS R but only when the power is off.  It would be great if I could keep power to the camera while it's powered on.  I realize this is more of an EOS R issue than an EOS Webcam Utility issue.

You have it backwards; the happy young woman waving is the Canon owner who is using the webcam driver to stream video to the unfortunate Mac user who is just watching. :/

Re: EOS Webcam Utility Beta Software: Share Your Feedback

I downloaded the installer, but it doesn't install.  It produces an error message that says...

What causes this?  "was interrupted" is not very informative.  Doesn't say what interrupted it, and running it again produces same result.

Try right clicking and select "troubleshoot compatibility"

I ordered a "dummy battery" adapter for my camera, will see if it works for powering without a battery

Why not make this work on the original EOS M6?

Working with M50 and Cisco WebEx, although there's a fairly significant crop. Seems to be more than just due to different aspect-ratio in the WebEx app vs what the camera-display shows. Doesn't change if I change resolution (4K/FHD/HD).

I'll go grab the ultra-wide Smiley Happy

Re: EOS Webcam Utility Beta Software: Share Your Feedback

  1. Start your WebEx meeting (you can just have yourself in there).
  2. On the right-hand-side, there's a cog-wheel on the 'Participants' menu. If you hover over it, it'll say 'Set video options'. Click that.
  3. On the 'Camera' dropdown list, select 'EOS Webcam Utility Beta'.
  4. OK your way out, then share the video to the meeting.

Note the 'Advanced Options' button didn't do anything when I tried.
