Camera not connected in Camera Connect app on Canon 70D

I have not been able to use the Camera Connect app on my OnePlusOne in Camera Access Point Mode in connection with my Canon 70D.

I am able to connect my phone to the camera through Camera Access Point Mode but the app still states: Camera not connection and thus I cannot use the app.

I have tried so many times to do this since I bought my Canon 70d over a year ago 😞

I have been able to access through infrastructure mode using my home wireless network on the phone and the eos remote app (older app) but never through Camera Access Point Mode, which is what I actually need to use when I'm away from home. (otherwise its just easier to pull my card out and read it with my computer)

I cannot connect using the app on my iPhone to my 70D. Being this is the "current" app it is very frustrating. Also to not be able to find any user guide for this app. EOS Remote connects easily and works efficiently. Definite disappointment.
