Peregrine Falcon R5 Mark II RF200-800mm f6.3-9 IS USM
Last Sunday 7-6-2025, while I was shooting the Red-tailed Hawk perched on a tall this Peregrine Falcon swooped in and kicked the Hawk out of its perch. It was great, because I was already set up and just hit my Back Button AF to refocus and just kept shooting! Fun facts about the Peregrine Falcons: Peregrines have some of the best vision of any animal on earth. They can spot prey up to a mile away. They like to eat Doves, Pigeons, Ducks, Seabirds and small Songbirds. They are fierce hunters and often pluck their prey mid-flight. The are Ambush hunters and use stealth and surprise. Attack prey at speeds over 150 mph. Scramble prey's brain with a punch like strike on impact. They're cruising speed is around 45 mph. However, when they go into a stoop, they can reach speeds over 200 mph. The highest recorded speed is 242 mph.
