Trona Pinnacles, California
EOS-1DX | EF 24 f/1.4 | 25 sec. | f/1.4 | 2500 ISO
I set out on an offroad photo adventure deep into the California Desert Conservation Area, bound for the otherworldly landscape of Trona Pinnacles. The journey alone was an experience—rugged terrain, endless stretches of open desert, and the thrill of navigating off-the-beaten-path routes under a canopy of stars.
With minimal light pollution, the Milky Way came alive overhead, stretching from horizon to horizon in brilliant detail. The eerie limestone spires of the Pinnacles provided the perfect foreground—ancient formations juxtaposed against the vast, timeless cosmos.
The combination of remote solitude, surreal geology, and a sky ablaze with stars made for an unforgettable night of astrophotography and exploration. Trona delivered everything I hoped for and more!
