This tiny, neotropical migrant is constantly in motion, making it very difficult to photograph. Sometimes called the “Little Mockingbird”, it hops around in dense foliage, flicking its tail from side-to-side to scare up insects which it then chases after. I photographed this one from my deck in Oklahoma. My deck is about 12 feet high, with this maple tree just a few feet off the deck enabling me to be eye level with this bird.

I like the placement of the bird against the colour of the foliage of the maple leaves. Nice image.
