Hi AM5,

Please disconnect the USB cable from your LiDE 400.  On the bottom of your scanner, please toggle the lock switch a few times, leaving it in the unlocked position.  After that, please reconnect the USB cable and attempt to scan.

If the 2,156,33 error persists, your CanoScan LiDE 400 would require service.

You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

If you would like to take part in this option, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Monday through Saturday, 9am to 9pm. Let them know you have been working with technical support and the Canon Upgrade Program was offered.

I also have an Lide 400 which has been working fine until almost 2 weeks ago when it ceased working and displayed the error message the scanner was disconnected or locked. I tried all of the solutions mentioned several times and took it to a computer repair shop this morning. They also had no luck. I contacted Canon Australia last week and they gave me a different driver. Did not work. The fault codes are the same as you have had. I've now noticed the scan bar, rather than being at the button end is resting at the hinge end. Any assistance would be appreciated.
