I have a CanoScan 5600F that I haven't used in about 4 years, it's just been sitting in a box. Never had a problem with it, I only used it to scan slides and photo negatives. I decided to use my mother's Lenovo desktop (Windows 7 Home Premium) exclusively for this task. But the scanner is not recognized, doesn't even show up in Device Manager. Normally a new device would still show up there even if the driver isn't found, correct? The problem isn't with the computer - I plugged other USBs in and they work fine. When I plug the scanner into my laptop, I get nothing. So the problem must be with the scanner. Any suggestions?
