Can't use LiDE 100 scanner with Windows 11

I have not been able to use my LiDE 100 scanner with my Windows 11 PC. I know the scanner is "retired", but it worked fine with my Windows 10 PC and I'd rather not buy a new scanner if possible.

I installed the Windows 7/8 driver and MX Navigator from Canon Support for CanoScan LiDE 100 | Canon U.S.A., Inc., since there is no Windows 10 or 11 version.

The scanner shows up in Settings > ... > Printers & Scanners. In Device Manager, "Imaging Devices" has "CanoScan LiDE100". When I start Navigator, I hear the scanner initialize. However when I try to scan I get a "ScanGear: Cannot communicate with scanner" error.

The MS Store "Scan" app works, but it only scans single pages.

Thanks for posting!

While our Forum Community members are welcome to chime in, your product has been retired. Once a product is retired, official Canon support content (troubleshooting articles, user guides, how-to videos, etc.) can be removed from the Canon website, and all development for the product is stopped.

To take advantage of Canon's innovative technologies, consider contacting our Canon Upgrade Specialists at 1-866-443-8002.

Have a great day!

Stephen's response is a non-response and totally useless. It would take nothing to upgrade the LiDE 100 driver for OS 10 and 11, and what in the world is the reason to remove other useful information on the site that is already there not hurting anyone. Epson still supports my old scanner. What is wrong with Canon? What is my incentive to buy Canon in the future, no matter how good or "innovative" it is? I now have a perfectly good portable scanner that is not even useful as a boat anchor.

VueScan by Hamrick Software might be able to "rescue" your scanner.

Thank you! Worth a try.

Hello,

I just installed an old LIDE 100 I had lying around on my Windows 11.  I used the Windows 7 x64 drivers, and as a scanning program, NAPS2 worked using the TWAIN driver.
