I just bought a Canon XA30 and I can't get it to read my sd cards. I have tried different sizes from 2gb- 256gb none of them work. I also tried to Initialize in camera but it will prompt me{Process terminated with error}. I have also tried reading the manual but not sure what else to do.

Hi JohnSmith1,
I'm sorry to hear your camera isn't reading your memory cards. Since this is happening with multiple memory cards they likely aren't the cause. It would be good to double check the lock switch on the side of the memory cards isn't in the lock position.
There aren't any settings on the camera that would prevent it from initializing a memory card. There are a couple of things to double check. The first is to make sure the memory cards are being loaded while the camera is powered off. If they are loaded in the camera while it is powered on that can cause issues like this. The other thing to check would be to load one memory card into one card slot, power on the camera, and check to see if the same thing is happening. If it is turn off the camera, take out the card, load it into the other card slot, power on the camera, and check again. If the issue continues at that point we would recommend sending the camera in for repair.
If you send the camera in make sure to include a copy of the proof of purchase in the box. The technician would need that to verify the warranty.

Greetings,
Hazel_T covered it at all. The camera was released in 2015. If you didn't acquire it from a source with the right to return, then service is your best option
