imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 - faint straight white line on edge of image

So, all of the sudden, my Canon Pro-1000 has a very small fine white line visible on the left side of my prints.  It's approximately 1/4" from the edge.   I checked for clogs, aligned the printer head and finally tried cleaning the timing strip.  The only process that made a marginal difference was cleaning the timing strip.  The line seemed to fade a bit.  Excited that I may have found the solution, I repeated the cleaning.  The line was then worse!  I tried cleaning the strip again and the line seemed better....but still there.  I am, of course, on a deadline so this is driving me crazy!!!  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  In the meantime, I'll try cleaning the strip a fourth time.IMG_3179.jpg

Thought  I would answer my own question for anyone suffering from similar issues.  Turns out, it was the timing strip.  After several (and I mean SEVERAL) cleanings of the strip using q-tips and isopropyl alcohol, the white line went away.  Word of caution to anyone attempting to clean the strip - for some reason, my printer head, after I carefully moved it over to clean part of the strip, malfunctioned.  My menu screen got stuck on a perpetual loop of thinking I was attempting a print head replacement.  Argh.  I finally just went along with the menu and re-flooded the head with ink.  The printer eventually came back to life after doing several maintenance commands (head alignment, nozzle check, etc.).  Now, I need ink.   Argh.
