Pixma Pro 100 - Only prints a portion of the page

I'm only printing 1 picture at a time.  In that, 1 sheet of photo paper loaded.  Printer commences printing but ejects the page before it is completed and then seems to be trying to load another sheet of paper.  An error is produced saying it is out of paper.

Might anyone have an idea of what's going on here?

Hi Aajax! Thanks for posting in the Canon Community Forum. I see that your PIXMA PRO-100 is only printing a portion of the page before if feeds the paper though and tells you the printer is out of paper.

I recommend that you check the print settings on your computer and make sure that the Paper Size and Type matches the paper you’ve loaded in the tray. If the paper settings do match the paper you are using, you will need to delete the current copy of the printer and add a new one. If that still does not help, you should reinstall the printer driver and then add a new copy.

If this does not help or if you need more instructions, please reply to this post with answers to the following questions:

  • What operating system is your computer running? (e.g. Windows 10, macOS Mojave)
  • How is the printer connected to your computer?
  • What size and type of paper are you loading in the printer?
  • Which paper tray are you using to load the paper (top tray or back feed)?
  • Is the paper guide adjusted to match the width of the paper?
  • Which computer program are you using to view and print your image?
  • If you use a different computer program to view and print your image, does the same issue happen?

I hope this information helps. Thanks again.

I've had this printer for several years now.  I have it running on Windows 7.  While NOT, technically, supported Windows 7 is much more stable than any newer version.  I find the Canon supplied program called "My Image Garden" to be the handiest way to print (i.e., since Google Picasa became useless).  I'm quite sure that I specified the correct size for the Canon Photo Paper but these instances of the problem are associated with both 11x8.5 Canon Platinum Pro and Canon 7x5 Plus Glossy II loading a single sheet from the Rear Tray.

My Pixma Pro 100 generally produces very good results.  Although this is NOT the first time I've experienced this problem and it does happen on different paper sizes.

Today I started with a freshly booted OS and opted to run the My Printer>Print Settings>Maintenance tab to invoke the Roller Cleaning option.  After that the same pictures that previously failed printed nicely.  I have no idea what connection there might have been between the maintenance operation and problem resolution.  My guess is probably none.  On past occasions the same is true.  Could be that simply restarting everything cleared up whatever went wrong.

The Pro-100 is supported under Windows 7.
