Color correcting monitor for printing on pro-10

rjsphd
Contributor

i have just purchased a colorimeter--x1Display from x-rite-- and would like to adjust my monitor to give me the best output from my pro-10.  I have not used it yet, but would appreciate advice on settings that will yield the best results on mhy printer; e.g., color space.

Thank you in advance.

Hello rjsphd.

Which monitor do you have? That could affect what settings you select, but here is what I use.

Color space - panel native

Luminance  - 80

White Point - 5800K (closer approximation to paper wht\ite since you will be printing)

Gamma - 2.2

Contrast Ratio - 287:1 (printing recommendation)

Here is a good article: http://www.outbackphoto.com/printinginsights/pi049/essay.html

John,

Thank you.  I will be sure to read the article.  My computer is a new iMac running latest OS.  Workflow out of lightroom.

You cannnot set the Contrast Ratio on this model.  I've written xrite for advice.  So far, no response, though I am in "queue."
