Print plugin for iPF 8400 not working in Photoshop 2023

Hi,
I had to revert to Photoshop 2022 to be able to use the iPF6400_8400_9400Series-PinPD-MacX-603 plugin for Photoshop. Could you please let me know when you will have updated the plugin for PS 2023

Cheers,
Ralf

Hi Philip, I’m tagging you in this reply to make sure you see the workaround that worked for me. I described it in detail below, but I enabled Photoshop to open with Rosetta and then the plug-in showed up. Hopefully that will work for you as well.

Excellent. But we should still have an upgrade of the software so we don't have to go back and forth between Rosetta and the latest OS (using Rosetta slows down the rest of your system so you don't want to keep your computer on it.)

Absolutely! Maybe Canon will soon get this fixed.

I'm having the same issue. I had to create a separate Volume for Big Sur, 2022 and 6.03 plugin to get it to work. With Ventura, as soon as you launch the plugin, CRASH.  The printer is a great printer but now I'm wondering if I would ever buy another Canon if this is the way they roll with software. Sad.

That hasn't been my experience. Ventura seems to be the culprit with 2022, 2023, beta. It does not matter which PS version. It is the 6.03 plugin that's at fault, at least for me.

Do you think I should install Rosetta 2 even though I have an Intel based iMac? Thanks!

Hi Glenna,
do you know if there is a way to print with the 8400 without the **bleep** print plugin? My Epson 9900 is just as old as the Canon 8400 and it doesn't need any plugin, just the driver. I tried the Canon the same way but the colours and density are way off.
Cheers, Ralf

How can I implement this for Windows?

UPDATE: For me, it turns out that the issue is trying to run Photoshop 2022+ with the print plugin. I am currently on Sequoia with no issues anymore. There are 2 ways to do this:
1) Right-click on the Photoshop app and Get Info. Select "open with Rosetta".
2) Download Photoshop 2021 as it's still Intel-Based MAC friendly.

For me, I keep 2021 installed JUST for print jobs on the 8400 with the 6.03 plugin. This allows me to run the latest version of Photoshop for regular editing work. Not the best arrangement, but at least I don't have to throw away the 11-year-old printer just yet!

I don't have any experience with this. My gut would say to try downloading an older version (2021) from CreativeCloud and try that. Seems that the plugin might not be compatible with newer versions?
