Just got an MX490 for free and set it up on my Windows 11 PC. It auto installed, and a test print worked great but... There is no sign of the scanning utility. Not sure what to do. Searched the support area for the utility, but it just says to go to the canon folder and click it, but there is no folder in my start menu, just the Canon Inkjet Print Utility.

Windows will weirdly autoinstall what looks like the printer, but it does not install the software, or have all the function.
You need to delete this "phantom" printer and install it with the Canon installation software. This should put everything in the Start Menu.

Took 15 minutes to find the answer but what you need to do is install the MP driver for your model and then the folder shows. For min, the link is here.
