A few months ago, the scanner function quit working for reasons unknown (Windows 11 computer). I can can thru Canon's U Scan Utility, but not thru Corel PaintShop nor PDF-XChange software (which used to work). The Canon Support page for the printer loads the PIXMA 6000 software. I uninstalled the existing software, downloaded and reinstalled the current software. The software installs without any problem, but the Windows Printer Driver page shows "Scanners not appearing" for the printer, and the two apps above also can't find the scanner. My current workaround is thru the U Scan Utility, but that's an added hassle. Any ideas appreciated.

Hi EScottR,
Are you able to scan using Windows Scan?
You can use the link below to download and install "Windows Scan" from the Windows App Store if you do not have it installed:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/windows-scan/9wzdncrfj3pv
If not, please follow these steps:
1. On your computer, please press the Windows key on your keyboard and the letter I, then let both go.
2. Click on Bluetooth & devices on the left side.
3. Click on Printers & scanners.
4. Click the blue Add Device button at the top.
5. Add your G6000 series.
Attempt to scan using Windows Scan again. If you are able to scan from Windows Scan, please try scanning from your program.

WIndows scan worked, but why the hell can't Canon provide a fix for their U-Scan utility? It used to work fine. I've tried uninstalling the printer, using the original installation disc, downloaded scan driver; all to no avail. WTF

Greetings,
If you'd like assistance, can you please start your own topic. It's difficult to provide support for people with different software environments, product models and circumstances.
It's also not possible for you to mark a post as resolved unless it's your own.
To start a new topic, please click here:
Please give your post a meaningful title. Include the model of your product, the version and build of the operating system you're using it with and your connection method. This ensures your issue gets the visibility it deserves.
Canon does not make a utility or app named U scan. Maybe you are referring to the IJ Scan Utility?
Thanks in advance 😉
