the access point name had to be changed. since then the printer finds the new access point name and mac address but fails to connect.
I have tries a hard reset, reset via setup and everything else on the screen.

Please try connecting your PIXMA MG7520 to your Wi-Fi using the WPS method.
Your router may have a WPS button that can be pushed or you have to log into your router's interface using a web browser to access this. Please refer to your router's help for assistance in locating this feature.
