Greetings,

It would help if we knew what OS you were using the printer with.  Start here.

Windows 10.

The ts8120 is working fine, and I would still like to find the utility for it.

However, I plan to replace the 8120 (keep it as a backup and have it physically closer to the Surface Book computer in the other room), so I'd also like to know which more current Canon printers in the moderate price range would support the scan-to-pdf function. I realize this sounds like a question for Sales. But I'd prefer to hear from forum members, especially those who have first-hand experience with other Canon printers (perhaps one they own).

TIA. pwrichcreek.

The TS8100 series...loads a lot of other stuff:

ts8120 full driver and software which one is the scan-to-pdf utility.png

It also put an image on the desktop that I had no idea what it was or was for.

ts8120 full driver and software how to get rid of ugly thingy on desktp.png

I think I finally got rid of it when I deleted that other software that was loaded along with the scan utility.

Regarding my other question about availability of the scan utility for other Canon printers, I'll check with the vendor that I eventually purchase another Canon printer from.

Thanks for your help.
