hi mikef1,

Various factors can affect a printer's output quality.  To properly determine the cause of the image quality issues you are experiencing, please answer the following questions:

1.  What inks being used in the printer?  Please state the type of ink that is being used and the order that the tanks are installed in the print head.  Provide the exact part number (such as BCI-6C, BCI3eBk,...etc.) if possible.

2.  What brand and type of paper is being used? (For example, Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy, Canon High Resolution Paper)  If a non-Canon brand of paper is in use, please state the manufacturer and the type of paper.

3.  What is the source of the original image?  Is the image from a digital camera, scanner photo, web page, or other source?  What is the file size of the image?

4.  Will the image print correctly on plain paper?

5.  What program was used to print the image?

6.  Are you able to print the following sample image correctly?
