bought the printer, than got this error message. Decided to contact with the technician for help and they told me I need to give them 5 dollars deposit, I would never buy the product produced by this company again!

Hello. This definitely explained the problem. Could you explain in a little more detail how to print from your iphone on 8.5x11? What kind of program do you mean? Is there an app or a setting? Can you give an example of a program that works well with this printer and the iphone? Many times I take a screen shot of a doc and want to print it, but can't. I have to email it to myself and then wait to do it from my mac. I wish there was a setting on the panel that would let us change the paper tray. Thank you.

I have the same problem everyone else has here. Why won't Canon support (who monitor this site) explain how to fix the problem? I mean - DUH!

Change the printer drivers, it works. Download and install either new Canon driver or Gutenprint.

Thanks for your reply. I tried it and it didn't work unfortunately.
I've absolutely had it with Canon printers. Every time I print a page it's a time consuming adventure, normally with a bad outcome. Plus I've down loaded a "new" driver 3 times now. Canon support sites should include a tab for "Non Canon printers we recommend for when you're sick of ours".

I finall found a way to print from iPhone photo album.
1. Selec the picture(s) you want to print.
2. Select "Save PDF to iBooks"
3. Print
Hope this helps.
