ink compatibility

Just bought a TR8620 inkjet. In the past I have owned other Canon printers and have used compatible ink without trouble, but I want to make sure nothing has changed before I buy more ink. Can somebody here tell me, from personal experience with a recently-purchased Canon, that my printer is not going to give me grief (refuse to work, or threaten to void the warranty) if I use other brands of compatible ink?

Greetings,

No guarantees.  There are a multitude of 3rd party inks and toners available for HP, Canon, Epson, Lexmark...  etc.  Some work, some don't.  Some work many times consecutively, then don't

It just depends on the brand and manufacturing process.  Printer manufacturers also update their FW so what worked previously works one day, then not again.  If you want consistent results, use OEM ink and toner.

As I said, I have had good results in the past, but as you said, things change. Past results are no guarantee of future success. Has anybody else had good (or bad) results in, oh, the past 12 months?
