canon mx715 error u052

hello, i seem to be having problems with my printer.

at first it was the error code B200 which i fixed by lifting the cover and letting the carriage go past halfway and then closing the cover. i had to do this twice.

it printed once then started throwing the u052 error

i have tried the steps in this thread

and yes, the warranty has recently expired which is convenient

when i remove the print head completely i get a please install print head message.

is there any way to bypass or trick the printer into thinking there is a print head installed so i can use the other functions of the printer
