What happened to Pixma MP530 OS X 10.9 Maverick compatibility? USB does not recognize it anymore

I see there's no driver for 10.9, can we get some help with this? Gutenprint doesn't seem to fix it, but it seems like the issue is related to the fact that USBprober utility tells me this repeatedly, with or without a hub. I tried two different cables too, but they are both pretty old cables. Does Mavericks require usb2 devices only?

According to the Canon site, the mp530 is not supported in 10.9

download the drivers and software for Mountain Lion using the drop down menu on the support page. I think they will work.

Sure, if there were drivers for 10.9 that would be the first thing to do. But there aren't.

I was referring to drivers/software for Mountain Lion not Mavericks.

The lion drivers do not work.

strange. I'm not having any trouble printing or scanning. I assume you have already downloaded Apple's update for Canon printers which was recently released. I downloaded the drivers and MP Navigator 2.2 from the ML drop down and have been using them. The only difference I've noticed is that the MP Navigator doesn't open automatically when I scan someting. Otherwise all seems to work as before.

I've replaced my printer with a new Epson that is supported in 10.9 and works with AirPrint. Best of luck to everyone.

MP530 works with Mavericks 10.9!

STAY CALM AND READ ON

1) Go to Canon support page for MP530: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp530#Dr...

2) Click on Driver & Software

3) Click the dropdown menu that shows your OS. It will detect your curren OS

but you want to change it to 10.7.

4) Proceed to Drivers and download the most recent Scanner driver

5) Scroll further down and download MP Navigator.

6) Install both & restart.
