I use Mac OS X 10.12.2 operating system.  I'm trying to scan a text document on a Canon Pixma mx922 printer, and would like to use OCR to covert to a Word document that can be edited.

No.  I did the setup as shown in the instructions.  My image scan version is 1.1.1.

When I dowloaded the software from the canon web site, it remains at 1.1.1. although it indicates newer versions on the web.

I down loaded the "My Image Garden" software since it was on the example on a previous post.  Scan from "My Image Garden" opens up the same scanner options as the IJ-scan software.

It saves a PDF which does successfully do OCR with the usual single character changes in some words.

Problem solved---scan within "image garden"  PDF is saved which can be edited.
