TS9020 Printer 'Preparing Please wait awhile'

I am getting the 'Preparing please wait awhile' message but the status never changes.  I can't shut the printer down unless I unplug it.  My other two Canon printers are fine.  The Pro-100 has a wireless connection and the 9500 Mark II is connected via USB.  No problems with either one of them.

So that the Community can help you better, we will need to know the Computer Operating System you're using (Windows Vista/7/8/10 or macOS 10.x), as well as the way you connect to your PIXMA TS9020 (USB or Wireless).
