Scanner lid on Pixma MG8220 won't close (the top lid for scanning, NOT the one used to access ink)

Don't know how this happened, printer was working (and scanning) well before I moved.  Now won't scan.

Appear to be 2 hinges, one of them is completely detached, the other has a flat cable beside it.

I cannot completely insert the 1" x 1" plastic pin that supports the detached hinge so the scanner lid won't lie flat.

Looks like these plastic pins that support the hinges are meant to be raised up & down to accomodate scanning thick thinges like books.

Cannot find anything about this online.  Thanks!

Same problem, have no idea what's going on.  Thinking of taking the printer into Best Buy and seeing if anyone at the GeekSquad counter can fix it.
