Prints black nicely on test page. Prints grayish on everything else. MG3620

I've gone through all the cleaning and nozzle checks.

When I print a test page, it's fine. The black is black.

Printing from Word or Illustrator, the black is gray.

I tried to change the paper type, so i could select High quality.

It printed more bold, but bluish.

What do I need to change?

I decided to see what would happen if I ticked "print in grayscale".

Low and behold it printed in black!

Go figure.

Hi gloriadeb,

I understand that the nozzle check is printing out within standard parameters; however, other items are printing out discolored. Could you please provide an image of the label on ink cartridge currently being used?

Easier to show the box than pull the cartridge out.

New.

Hi gloriadeb,

Thank you for the image; however, I still need you to remove the ink cartridge from the printer and then reinstall the cartridge. This will allow you to reseat the print head. Ensuring that when printing the ink is being pushed through properly.

After reseating the ink cartridge, attempt to print the word document again. On the printer dialog window ensure that the printer is not set to print in grayscale.

I've tried reseating the cartridges several times.

I've made sure my preferences and settings are correct.

Still not printing correctly.

This is a new machine and my first change of ink.

I rec'd an email that said this has been marked as solved.

Ummm....Sorry. Not solved.

If I have a page with text and a photograph, if I want the text to be black (as it should be), I have to check "Print as grayscale". So I get black text and the photo is grayscale.

Besides, checking print as grayscale is NOT solving the problem.
