How do I set the printer back paper tray to front tray
I was trying to print from my iPad wirelessly to my printer and an error message came up saying no paper in the back tray I want to use the front tray somehow it automatically switched from front to back and I don't know how to reset it

Hi Butterflygal13,

 

When printing from your iPad, the paper tray that will be printed from is selected automatically according to the application software being used on the device, and the region in which AirPrint is used. When Apple's photo application software is used, the default paper size is 4x6, so the printer will feed from the rear tray.  If you want to print from the front tray, you will need to use a program that has that paper tray and the option to choose a different paper size as a selectable option and print from that program to the printer.  

 

Also, please note, if any other type of paper other than plain paper is selected in the printer driver or application that you are printing from, the printer will automatically attempt to feed from the rear tray of the printer. The printer will also attempt to feed from the rear tray if a paper size other than A4, B5, A5, or Letter is used.  For more information on which tray is selected when a particular paper size/type is used, please click on the link below:

this is a 6020 canon printer I need to have the paper printed from the front rather than the back tray
