Hi, rcoleman!

So that the Community can help you better, we will need to know exactly what Canon equipment you're using, any error messages you're seeing, and the Computer Operating System you're using (Windows XP/Vista/7/8 or Mac 10.x), as well as the way you connect to your device (USB or networked via WiFi or Ethernet).

Any other details you'd like to give will only help the Community better understand your issue!

If this is a time-sensitive matter, our US-based technical support team is standing by, ready to help 24/7 via Email at http://bit.ly/EmailCanon or by phone at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) weekdays between 10 AM and 10 PM ET (7 AM to 7 PM PT).

Thanks and have a great day!

There are no errors messages because the printer is totally dead. There were no messages before it stopped working I used it the night before and the next moring when I tried to turn it on it would not come on.

Are there parts that I can buy to repair this or do I have to buy a new one?

I have the cannon MG5320

Hi rcoleman,

When the printer will not power on, we recommend the following:

1. Ensure that the power cord is plugged securely into the printer, as the cord may have slightly become disconnected and prevented full power to be received by the printer.

2. Ensure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet instead of going through a surge protector that is plugged into a wall outlet, as sometimes ports on a surge protector may no longer work, even if other ports on the protector do work.

3. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet/surge protector and leave them out for at least 10 minutes, then plug it back in to try and reset the printer.

4. Try plugging the printer into another power outlet in a different area of the room, or another room if possible.

5. If you have another power cord you can use with the printer, please see if using that power cord will allow the printer to

power on.

If the printer still does not turn on after following the above steps, we recommend having the unit looked at by a service facility to determine why the unit will not power on.  Please call or email us at one of the methods on the Contact Us page for servicing options.
