Pixma 870 stopped scanning after MacOS update

My Pixma870 will print but not scan after I updated my Mac OS to Mojave.

There were no driver updates to download from Canon.

 

Are there any workarounds?  I really don't want to buy another printer at this point.  And the printing function is fine.

Thanks for any help here.

The PIXMA MX870 is not supported with macOS v10.14. You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program.  This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system.  This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.
